Writers
One of the things about being a self-proclaimed crappy fiction writer is that you end up creating a lot of characters. Especially if you're me. Need something to happen in this story? Why not introduce another character? Even better, why not develop an extensive backstory for every single character that might come up in the story you haven't even started yet? That's how my thought process goes. And with all this character creation comes the impossible task of naming characters.
Because of this, I spend a lot of time thinking about what names I like. And what names I don't like. And what names I really like and would like to name a child after but aren't very good names to be called so someone's going to have to stop me from naming a child that. Which brings me to my thought for today.
Someone is going to have to stop me from naming a baby Mikhail and calling him Misha.
When he came home from school with friends, I could greet them with "Hola, Mishamigos!" And I would think I was the funniest mom on the planet. And depending on his personality, Misha would either think that was the coolest and funniest or most embarrassing thing ever.
Other names that I really want to name my children but I will have to be stopped about:
- Apollo
- Ginevra
- Pyotr
- Glenn
- Mycroft
- Merida
Thank goodness I don't have to worry about this for a looooong while.
