I kind of forgot to/put off blogging for the past two weeks or so. Whoops.
I've been exchanging Facebook messages with a guy who lives in the town in Louisiana that I'm moving to. He's quite intelligent, and fun to talk to. I'm glad that I'm having such a good experience with someone from Louisiana before I even arrive there; it really makes me feel better about this whole thing. It's good to know that there are nice, smart and fun people in Louisiana.
Jekyll and Hyde performances went really well, and I had a good time with the people in the pit. We goofed off a lot, and made fun of the theater kids doing their inspirational speeches and pump-up excercises before shows (my friend Hannah and I even decided to accompany someone's inspirational speech with a humming chorus of Amazing Grace). On the last night of Jekyll and Hyde, every boy I've ever been romantically involved with save one showed up, which was a little awkward. I'll call the boy from sophomore year Dr. Balthar. Dr. Balthar was actually in Jekyll and Hyde, so that wasn't unexpected or wierd. But Mr. Bingley doesn't even go to my school, and he showed up. And then the guy I went to homecoming with this year, even though he's now home-schooled/in college, who I will call Merlin, decided to help sell food at the thing. And Aladdin was there because his family was there.
Okay, confession time. Aladdin is actually Dr. Balthar's little brother. So I have a thing for my ex's little brother. Yeah, it's wierd. It gets wierder. Dr. Balthar currently has a thing for the girl at school who dated the guy I had a mutual liking thing with in 5th and 6th grade. Dr. Balthar's other ex is also dating Aladdin's friend, who pretty much lives at Dr. Balthar and Aladdin's house. My school's social circle is way too small. Also, said 5th and 6th grade boy decided at Jekyll and Hyde rehearsal that if neither of us is married in fifteen years, we'll get married and I'll make him fudge. Always knew the way to a boy's heart was through his stomach...
I've been enduring school. My English class decided to have a brunch on our long class period on Wednesday, complete with a most-likely-against-regulation kerosene stove on which we cooked bacon. I think half the school tried to get in and steal some bacon. Not surprisingly, the bacon thieves were mostly male. I do not understand what boys like so much about bacon. Then again, I don't really see what anyone likes about bacon. I'm a vegetarian.
I had a good time with Aladdin and some other friends at his house last Friday. We watched the Princess Bride, taught the boys some stuff about cooking as they made spaghetti for dinner, and played with Aladdin's sister, who is in Kindergarten and absolutley adorable.
On Saturday I went to Chipotle with Mr. Bingley, which was quite nice. We ate our food and then wandered around a nearby Hobby Lobby. Then Ariel and I went to see a few of my friends in the All-State Orchestra, where they played Dvorak's 8th Symphony, which I absolutely adore. After that we went to a Mormon dance, where I spent a good amount of time trying to keep Aladdin from falling asleep on his face.
I taught my group of girls at church on Sunday, and I think it went okay. Then I watched really bad old Church movies with my mom and Ariel.
I read a book that my friend Mindy gave me for Christmas, called Hawksong. It's about a girl who rules the people who can turn into birds. The bird people war with the snake people, and have ever since before anyone can remember. The heir to snake people throne is as sick of war as the hawk girl, so they decide to end their wars and unify their people by getting married, even though they don't love each other. Then a lot of people try to assasinate them. I liked the book, even though the snake guy was pretty creepy.
Tonight I'll go to a Church activity for girls and guys my age, which I hope will be fun. Tomorrow I'll be competing at a Speech and Debate meet, which I haven't done since I was a sophomore. Yikes!
